JLlogoJob Links is an Employment Support Program that assists people living with a disability to become contributing members of the business community through part time or full time employment.  The Job Links team, consisting of employment counsellors and a job developer, assist people through Job Development, Job Job Links 2Preparation, Onsite Job coaching, and Long Term Support.  We believe that the people we serve are the best candidates for the job and assist with connecting them to employers creating a win-win situation.

Employment Planning:

An opportunity for people to sit down with an employment counsellor to develop an individualized action plan.  This plan will set out the steps one needs to achieve in order to obtain employment. 

Job Preparation:
People can participate or have assistance with some or all of the following:  interest resume writing, job search workshop, interview preparation and many other supports required to be prepared for finding employment.

Training Sites:
A short term unpaid community placement that will provide new work related experiences, hands-on skills training, and assistance with determining job interests.

Job Search:
Assistance is provided in job search training, accessing job banks and distributing resumes.  A Job Developer is available to assist with securing employment. 

Onsite Coaching:
Provides time limited one-to-one support to learn a job.  The employer is involved in the support provided, assisting with feedback, evaluation, and promoting independence with the job skills required.
 

Job Maintenance: 
Periodic support provided to the employee who is working independently but requires some support to maintain their job.  This support can be provided over the phone, brief meetings, and/or on the job consultation.

Summer Work Experience: 
Provides a combination of in class training and real workplace experience during the summer to youth 16 years and older who are still attending school and have barriers to employment.  This will assist the students with the transition from school to their adult life in the workforce.
